Booking slots

Our booking slots are as follows:

  • 7.30 am
  • 8 am - 10 am
  • 9 am - 1 pm
  • 12 am - 5 pm

Unfortunately once the day is in full swing I cannot guarantee specific times as all chimneys take varying amounts of time to sweep, distances between jobs vary and many other obstacles can influence the course of the day.

Cancellations and reminders

Should you need to cancel or re-schedule appointment, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can offer your slot to someone else.
Once I have your details on file I offer a reminder service based on the timescale agreed with you and Adrian.
Time passes so quickly and with all the will in the world things get forgotten, so let me give you a quick ring to remind you when your chimney is due for its next sweep. Please respond quickly to any reminders to avoid delays later on.

Before your appointment

When you book your appointment I will always ask you if you would like me to ring you beforehand to remind you, and I am more than happy to do this if there is a chance you might forget. This not only serves as a reminder in case it has slipped your mind, but also as a reminder that the appliance should be cold and not in use.
Remember that Rayburn/Agas need to be turned off at least 24 hours in advance to ensure that they are cool enough for Adrian to work on. You may find it sensible to book your service engineer to visit at the same time, again in the summer when you won't miss the warmth so much.

Telephone bookings

I am normally available from 8.00 a.m. until 7.00 p.m., Monday to Friday and from 9.00 a.m. until 1.00 p.m. on a Saturday. I do not normally answer the telephone on a Saturday afternoon, or on a Sunday.
If I am unable to answer the phone, or you ring outside of these hours, please leave a message on the answer machine and I will ring you back as soon as I can. If it is an emergency I will of course ring you back as soon as I pick up the message.
If you do leave a message can you please make sure that you leave your name, telephone number and the area that you are calling from so that I can have all details to hand before I ring you back.

Waiting times

Do bear in mind that during our peak trading period (August to January) we are often operating with a 6 week waiting period between booking with me and Adrian's visit.
Having your chimney swept in the summer will avoid you having to wait to light your fire in the Autumn, especially if the weather turns chilly early.
